Does my enemy get to play a unit up to 5 from their looked cards?
No. After Smite resolves, a delayed replacement effect becomes active where if the unit later dies in the same turn, they would get banished.
Since the enemy activates Baited Hook and proceeds to kill their unit, it would get banished and "killed unit" would return null.
Q. During the opponent's turn, we play [Punish] on an enemy unit. The opponent's base has Zhonya's Hourglass. Should the unit be banished or recalled?
The controller of that unit decides.
